About Dr. Ellis
With caring, humor, and attention to detail as hallmarks of his personal style, Ralph has served both as a high school counselor in the public school system as well as a career counselor at the university level. He was Associate Director of Career Services at the University of Rochester, Assistant Director of Career Planning & Placement at SUNY Cortland, and conducted personal and career counseling at Southeast Missouri State University, Towson University, and Southern Illinois University (SIU). In addition, he taught career planning courses at SIU, Towson University, and Nazareth College.
Over the years, Ralph has conducted workshops on various topics including Applying to College, Assertiveness, Communication Skills, Interviewing Skills, and Resume Writing. Ralph is also a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association.
Originally from Lancaster, PA, Ralph received his B.A. in Psychology from Penn State, M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University, and Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale in Education with a concentration in Educational Psychology.
Ralph is married, has two children, and lives in Rochester, NY.
